TOPIC: TRIGGERS OF LONELINESS

Fire Scripture: Rom.7:15-19

OUTLINE: MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 20TH FEBRUARY 2021 TODAY MESSAGE

The present world is full of aggression, violence, strife, break ups and divisions in human relationships such as marriage, parenting, family, sibling rivalry, friendship, courtship, and all social and corporate relationships. The Church and the relationship between brethren inclusive! Sadly, it is not out of place to see people who come to church, mingle with the crowd but yet lonely and forsaken. The Bible is a Book of conflict resolution.

No matter the category of your problems, there is a solution attached! But it will be needful that you do a thorough and in depth self- examination. Discover what triggers you into ungodly solitude. Relax and do a flashback! You may need to go back to your childhood days. What are your pains, regrets, hurts and wounds? Could it be rejection? Jesus was rejected and betrayed! (Isa. 53).

Were you betrayed by friends and you thought it’s better to remain lonely than have unfriendly friends? God is able to connect you to the right people. Is it as a result of family issues or sibling rivalry? Ask Joseph. He survived the same among his brethren; they bowed to him at last. Could it be the pains of widowhood, marital distress, separation, divorce or broken courtship? God can and will give you beauty for your ashes as He promised in Isaiah 61:3.

Is it as a result of grief or loss like Job? Jesus will wipe away your tears and give you joy! Is it from internal pressure, failures and disappointments? God is able to sort it all out, if only you will cast the burden upon Him. The Psalmist, King David, was a man of many troubles, yet he did not live a lonely life. People kept drawing to him because God was with him. It means that if, and when you remain lonely, people avoid you instead of relating with you; then the presence of God is no longer with you!

Jesus did not keep away from men in spite of who He is when He was in the world, rather He accepted each of His disciples for whom they were and helped them become better persons. Acceptance is one place you should start from by developing a positive mind set to persons, things, and situations. For all these shall pass away, no situation is permanent! Realise that we have individual differences which may trigger conflicts, but in diversity we can foster unity as children of God.

Make efforts to chase away that lonely feeling and invite the Prince of Peace into your life and you shall NEVER be lonely. We are sheep of His pastures, created for His pleasure. Begin to enjoy that intimacy and you shall become divinely contagious, never lonely again, in Jesus’ name.

Memory Verse: Ps 23:4 – “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”

Motivational Quote: A lonely life is an empty life that is void of the very essence of living – to love and be loved. But with God every void shall be filled to overflowing with His presence and love.

Prophetic Word: I decree that obscurity shall never be able to swallow your glory, in the name of Jesus.

HYMN: Just a closer walk with Thee

1. I am weak but Thou art strong,
Jesus keep me from all wrong;
I’ll be satisfied as long
As I walk close to Thee.

Chorus
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, this my plea;
Daily let it ever be
Just a closer walk with Thee.

2. Thru this world of toils and snares,
If I falter Lord, who cares?
Who with me my burden shares?
Let me walk close to Thee.
3. When my feeble life is o’er,
Time for me will be no more,
Guide me to that peaceful shore,
Let me walk close to Thee.

PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING:
1. O God, arise and deliver me from myself, in the name of Jesus.
2. Evil trees in the garden of my life, wither to your roots, in the name of Jesus.
3. I pull down every stronghold of ungodly thoughts and imagination, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING:
1. Grace to live, love and be loved, come upon me now, in the name of Jesus.
2. Blood of Jesus, flush out the strangers of darkness from my mind, in the name of Jesus.
3. Internal termites, catch fire, die, in the name of Jesus.
4. Holy Spirit, do Your work in my life and kill every agent of loneliness, in the name of Jesus.

TOPIC: KNOWING AND DOING GOD’S WILL

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Romans 12:1-2

OUTLINE: MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 1ST MARCH 2021 TODAY MONDAY

The primary reason for our creation is to know God, have relationship with Him (just like Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden) and obey Him. One of the attributes of a truly born again child of God is the desire to have more of God and to do His will (Ecclesiastes 12:13). To know God, you must know the scripture and meditate upon it day and night. The more of the word of God you know, the more of God you know and the more you will conform to His will.

The word of God reveals God to us as our Maker, our Saviour, our Coming King, our Healer, our Provider, the Unchangeable God that can change all things, the One who honours His words even more than His name. Our memory verse emphasises the importance of knowing His will. The two major wills of God for mankind are as follows: First, that all men be saved. Second, that all men come to the knowledge of the truth.

Having been saved as a child of God, you need to know the acceptable perfect will of God and walk therein. The perfect will of God, according to our text, is that we must present our bodies as a living sacrifice to God, not as instrument of sin but as a channel through which His righteousness is manifested. We must make our body holy and make ourselves acceptable to God.

We The following rewards await those who know God and do His will: They will be kept from falling. They will receive answers to their prayers. They will never be moved. They will abide forever and will have the confirmation of sonship as well as the assurance of eternity.
May God grant us the grace to know more of Him and do His will, in Jesus’ name.

Memory Verse: Matthew 7:21: Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Motivational Quote: You are a slave to whom you obey.

Prophetic Word: Receive the power to do the will of God, in the name of Jesus.

HYMN: Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah

1. Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah,
Pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but Thou art mighty;
Hold me with Thy pow’rful hand;
Bread of heaven, Bread of heaven,
Feed me till I want no more,
Feed me till I want no more.

2. Open now the crystal fountain,
Whence the healing stream doth flow;
Let the fire and cloudy pillar
Lead me all my journey through;
Strong Deliverer, strong Deliverer,
Be Thou still my strength and shield.
Be Thou still my strength and shield.

3. When I tread the verge of Jordan,
Bid my anxious fears subside;
Bear me thro’ the swelling current,
Lead me safe on Canaan’s side;
Songs of praises, songs of praises
I will ever give to Thee,
I will ever give to Thee.

PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING:
1. O God, arise, reveal Yourself to me the more, in the name of Jesus.
2. O God, open the eyes of my heart, in the name of Jesus.
3. My foundation, receive fire, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING:
4. Spiritual cataract, covering my spiritual eyes, catch fire, in the name of Jesus.
5. O Lord, let my life be consecrated unto Thee, in the name of Jesus.
6. Mercies of God, speak for me, in the name of Jesus.
7. Any arrow of bewitchment targeted at me, backfire by fire, in the name of Jesus.
