Today’s Scripture: Philippians 2:13, NLT
For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

Today’s Word On Joel Osteen 4 August 2021 Daily Message:

Whenever you tell yourself, “I can’t control my temper. I can’t break this addiction. I can’t keep my eyes on the right things,” you’re defeating yourself in your own thinking. The battle starts in your mind. Right now, the Most High God is working in you. He’s bigger than any temptation, bigger than any stronghold. He created you to be free, and you have the grace to overcome.

Instead of going through the day thinking, “I’ve tried to do it, but I just don’t have the discipline,” turn it around. Start saying, “Father, thank You that You’re giving me the desire to obey You. Thank You that I have the power to overcome, that the forces for me are greater than the forces against me. Thank You that Your grace, Your enabling power, is always greater than what’s trying to stop me. That temptation may be strong, but the power in me is stronger.” Get your mind going in the right direction. That’s the first step to victory.

Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that You are working in me and giving me the desire to obey You. Thank You that I have the power to overcome and be disciplined to do the right thing. I believe that the forces for me are greater than the forces against me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
