Due to the recent outbreak of the pandemic disease COVID-19, a community of hungry monkeys were seen fighting over a single banana in Thailand after the disease caused a huge drop in the numbers of tourists who come to feed them.

Daily Mail reports that the monkeys were normally fed by tourists In Lopburi, central Thailand, who stopped visiting due to fear of the recent outbreak of coronavirus.

The monkeys which seemed to be made up of two rival gangs were seen roaming around the streets in search of food.

According to an onlooker, Sasaluk Rattanachai, the monkeys were seen roaming the streets in search of what to feed on.

She said “ The animals were seen running individually as they were in search of food.

“But then the noise of their cries increased drastically as a huge number of them chased a single monkey which seems to have a banana.

“They were seen jumping on it as they fight over the food.

“Even locals who are used to seeing the monkeys were shocked by their ferocity.

“They looked more like wild dogs than monkeys.

“They went crazy for the single piece of food.

“ I was surprised too because I’ve never seen them this aggressive.”
