- Youth demands the Vacation of Amnesty Boss, Charles Dokubo from office
Transformation Forum, NDTF has called for the immediate vacation of Professor Charles Dokubo, Co-ordinator, Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP from office saying his tenure has elapsed.
Speaking with newsmen during a protest at the Unity Fountain, the leader of the group, Gabriel Tarelayefa said Professor Charles Dokubo’s tenure expired when the President Muhammadu Buhari’s first tenure in office came to an end on May 28, 2019.
According to him, Professor Charles Dokubo, since the expiration of his tenure in office, the PAP Co-ordinator is still signing letters and making fraudulent approvals charting away huge sum of money which constitutes fraud, and therefore call for his immediate vacation from office.
In his words “He should leave the office, his time has elapsed and every other appointee has left their office, signing and approving documents for his personal interest is fraud. As Niger Deltans we are against it.”
Tarelayefa called on President Buhari to shop for a younger and dynamic personality for appointment as Co-ordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Office to cater for the yearning of ex-agitators in the Niger Delta.
He also noted that the continuous stay in office by Professor Charles is fraudulent and does not represent the fight of corruption by Mr. President stressing that Mr. President is a man of integrity and honesty, therefore people working with him should be men and women of integrity.
The leader of the group said this will promote transparency and accountability in the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP which many believed have been immersed with so many financial improprieties.
Gabriel Tarelayefa said the Professor Dokubo’s activities in the office is a bad omen to President Buhari’s administration corruption fight noting saying his continuous stay in office is a bad influence to the administration and the Niger Delta region.
However, the protest was obstructed by an alleged thugs sponsored by the embattled Co-ordinator of the Amnesty office in Abuja.
