Topic: Let Him Clean You Up

Memorise: He that covereth his sins shall not proper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Proverbs 28:13

Read: Luke 19:1-10 (KJV)
1 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.
5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.
6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.
7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Bible in one year: Job 36-38, Matthew 18:21-19:12, Hymnal: Sing hymn 3
Message: Open Heavens 12 August 2018
Many people will end up in hell on the last day because they refuse to allow God clean up their mess now. The Bible makes it clear that the Almighty God cleanses the lives of those who are yielded to Him. In Isaiah 1:18, He made a call to all those who will listen:

Open Heavens 12 August 2018 Daily Devotional – Let Him Clean You Up

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

One man who heard this call and yielded to it was Zacchaeus. Today’s Bible reading narrates how the Lord Jesus Christ cleaned up his terrible past, even though he was chief among the tax collectors. He had fraudulently and violently enriched himself with other people’s wealth. This explains why he longed to see Jesus for cleansing. When he could not reach Jesus, he climbed up a sycamore tree in order to catch a glimpse of Him, and he got what he desired. How could such a terrible man get the attention of the Most Holy One? The Lord gave him attention because He had already made this promise in Jeremiah 29:13:

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”

Open Heaven 12 August 2018: [Sunday] Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye Let Him Clean You Up

This scripture was fulfilled in the life of Zacchaeus as it will be fulfilled in yours today. Your case will catch Jesus’ attention today and all your guilt shall be wiped away. An interesting aspect of this story is that while Zaccheaus was savouring the saving and cleansing grace of our Lord, some other people were busy murmuring that the Redeemer was ushering a lost sheep of the Father into the cleansing room of eternal life.

Another recipient of God’s cleansing was David. He caught the revelation of the cleansing grace of God, even in the dispensation of the Old Testament. The Psalm 51:2 & 7, he cried to God to purify him, saying:

“Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleans me from my sin. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.”

Beloved, something more effective than hyssop is now available, and it is the Blood of Jesus Christ. In 1st John 1:7 & 9, the Holy Spirit said:

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

This Blood is still available for you today. Beloved, have you been involved in terrible acts which you are so ashamed of? Surrender your life to Jesus today in genuine repentance, confess your sins to Him and allow Him to clean you up with His precious Blood.

Prayer point: Open Heavens 12 August 2018 Daily Devotional
Take every mess in your life before the throne of grace today and ask God to please clean you up.

Open Heaven 13 December 2018 Devotional – Year of Jubilee written by Pastor E. A. Adeboye

Topic: Year of Jubilee Open Heaven 13 December 2018

Memorise: “Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.”– Psalm 124:7

Read: Leviticus 25:10-13 (KJV)

10 And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.

11 A jubile shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed.

12 For it is the jubile; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.

13 In the year of this jubile ye shall return every man unto his possession.

Bible in One Year: Daniel 11-12, John 11:1-27

Open Heaven 13 December 2018 Devotional MESSAGE:

The year of Jubilee is a year of liberation or freedom from oppression and servitude. The word “Jubilee” is derived from the Hebrew word jobel, meaning “ram’s horn”, because a ram’s horn is used as a trumpet to announce the beginning of the year of jubilee. It is a year when slaves are released and debts forgiven unconditionally, amongst the Israelites. Describing the tenets of this ordinance, Leviticus 25:39-41 says:

“39 And if thy brother that dwelleth by thee be waxen poor, and be sold unto thee; thou shalt not compel him to serve as a bondservant: 40 But as an hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with thee, and shall serve thee unto the year of jubile: 41 And then shall he depart from thee, both he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return.”

Under the New Testament, we experience Jubilee when we surrender our lives to Jesus. An encounter with Jesus is the fulfillment of Jubilee in its fullness. He is our Kinsman-Redeemer who came to redeem us from the slavery which our spiritual poverty has imprison us in. The Spirit of life in Jesus Christ sets us free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2). Jesus paid the price, repaid all our debts and freed us from every form of bondage we were under through His death on the cross and His resurrection on the third day after His death. Through His work of salvation, we have access to a rest that is found only in Him. For those who have not experienced this rest, Jesus is calling out to you today, saying:

“28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30 (Open Heaven 13 December 2018 Devotional)

Whoever wants to experience genuine and complete freedom must come to Jesus Christ. He is the one who is able to grant all-round freedom: physically, spiritually and mentally. Beloved, if you are experiencing genuine Jubilee from the Lord, I congratulate you. However, if you know you are not experiencing complete freedom, today is the day of salvation. You need to decide today to surrender all that concerns you to Him and commit to living according to his will, and you will begin to experience the total freedom that He gives.

Open Heaven 13 December 2018 Devotional Prayer Point:
Father, I thank You for the freedom You have given me through Christ, please grant me grace to walk in this liberty forever in Jesus’ Name.

OPEN HEAVEN 12 DECEMBER 2018 MEMORISE: Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. Revelation 3:11

Open Heaven 12 December 2018 Read: 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Open Heaven 12 December 2018 Message With Hymn And Prayer Points

Imagine that a family goes on vacation for a couple of month, locking up their entire house.

They eventually return home, only to meet workers and artisans going in and out of their house- some cleaning windows, some fixing electrical appliances and others painting the walls.

The family will be shocked because they did not instruct anyone to work in their house. What would you do if this happens to you? I assume you would immediately call the police to assist in getting these intruders out of your house.

Open Heaven 12 December 2018
The same thing needs to happen in the Church of God, as many workers there are intruders. This is the reason why the Lord said in Matthew 7:22-23:

“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

In today’s Bible reading, the Holy Spirit reveals to us the character of those who will receive divine commendation, saying:

“And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:”

To receive heaven’s commendation on the day of reckoning, you must be temperate in all things and run your course with certainty of purpose

Being temperate means being moderate and self-controlled, while to be certain is to be sure-minded and serious. In contrast to this, the attitude of “beating the air” is common place in our churches today.

We have people who teach on missions but who don’t go on missions. Some teach on evangelism but do not go out to evangelize. Others are orators who can get money from the stingiest of persons, but they themselves are not givers.

We need to be mindful of our ways so that we don’t end up being disappointed on theday of reckoning. Learn from Apostle Paul and apply the secret he reveals in 1 Corinthians 9:27 to your life:

“But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”

May you not miss your divine commendation at the end of your life in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heaven 12 December 2018 Prayer Point: Father, please open my eyes to areas of my life where I am not temperate or sure-minded in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heaven 12 December 2018 Hymn 5

I HAVE DECIDED TO FOLLOW JESUS
1. I have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
No turning back, no turning back.

2. The world behind me, the cross before me;
The world behind me, the cross before me;
The world behind me, the cross before me;
No turning back, no turning back.

3. Though none go with me, still I will follow;
Though- none go with me, still I will follow;
Though none go with me, still I will follow;
No turning back, no turning back.

4. My cross I’ll carry, till I see Jesus;
My cross I’ll carry, till I see Jesus;
My cross I’ll carry, till I see Jesus;
No turning back, no turning back.

5. Will you decide now to follow Jesus?
Will you decide now to follow Jesus?
Will you decide now to follow Jesus?
No turning back, no turning back.
