Katie Price’s bodyguard has revealed his terror of believing the mum of five had been shot and killed by a gang of thugs who car-jacked them while they were filming in South Africa.
Security expert Neil Tawse was hospitalised with injuries after the criminals beat him while stealing thousands of pounds worth of phones, camera equipment, laptops, cash and passports in the horrifying incident last month.
He had been accompanying Katie, 39, and her children by Peter Andre, Princess, 10, and 12-year-old Junior, in the country while they filmed for Katie’s upcoming reality series My Crazy Life.
And he was petrified when he heard his client screaming in the car behind his.
“I was terrified. At first we thought they had guns because they were saying, ‘I’ve got guns. We’re going to kill you, we’re going to f**king kill you!’ but then I could hear – there were three cars and I was in the front car at that time – I could hear Kate screaming in the back car and after one or two minutes I thought, ‘l hope they didn’t have guns’,” he told Now magazine.
“When I said, ‘Where’’ your gun, where’s your f**king gun?’ they didn’t have any. I know that was a stupid thing [to say] but they didn’t have them.”
Hero Neil tried desperately to protect Katie by launching himself at one of the thugs, but got beaten for his troubles.
