Topic: Accessing Divine Information

Memorise: Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. Amos 3:7

Read: Daniel 2:13-19 (KJV)

2:13 And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.
2:14 Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king’s guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon:
2:15 He answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.
2:16 Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.
2:17 Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:
2:18 That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
2:19 Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

Message:
Information is very powerful, and the wise do not underestimate its power. It can have positive or negative impact, depending on the type of information, the giver of the information and the receiver of that information. The Lord will give you pleasant information today in Jesus’ Name. It was pleasant Information to Abraham and his household, when the Lord announced the coming of the child of promise (Genesis 18:10). Open Heavens 27 February 2018

However, it was unpleasant information when the Lord later announced the coming total destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, where Abraham’s nephew lived (Genesis 18:17-21). However, irrespective of the nature of the information, it is always a privilege to have access to divine information, because it enables you to always be one step ahead of the enemy.

RCCG Open Heavens 27 February 2018 Tuesday Daily Devotional – Accessing Divine Information

In today’s memory verse, the Lord committed Himself to the principle of sharing divine information with His servants, this wise will scrutinize the principle and apply it to their benefit. Daniel was wise; he therefore tapped into the possibilities made accessible by this commitment. In today’s Bible text, when all the astrologers in Babylon were to be killed because they could not decode the information embedded in the king’s dream, they turned to Daniel who knew how to access divine information from the spirit realm. Beloved, where there is no vision, the people perish (Proverbs 29:18).

We can learn some vital truths on accessing divine information from the experience of Daniel and his companions, one of which is that they got the information from the God of Heaven. For you to access information that will guide you aright in life, you need the God of Heaven. Open Heavens 27 February 2018. This same God has packaged all the information you need to excel in life in a book called the Bible. Just as divine information made a way of escape for Daniel, it also helped the king of Israel, guided by Elisha, to escape the traps of the king of Israel, guided by Elisha, to escape the traps of the king of Syria. 2nd Kings 6:9-10 says,

“And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down. And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice.”

We will be delivered from the snares of our enemies when we have access to divine information, but we must act on it like the king of Israel did. For example, we have been divinely informed that sinners face eternal damnation but can escape this future through repentance and acceptance of the Lordship of Jesus Christ. The wise will act on this information and escape eternal damnation.

Action Point: Open Heavens 27 February 2018
Get acquainted with the God of Heaven through Jesus Christ, and you will on daily basis have access to divine information that will keep you away from evil.

OPEN HEAVEN 12 DECEMBER 2018 MEMORISE: Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. Revelation 3:11

Open Heaven 12 December 2018 Read: 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Open Heaven 12 December 2018 Message With Hymn And Prayer Points

Imagine that a family goes on vacation for a couple of month, locking up their entire house.

They eventually return home, only to meet workers and artisans going in and out of their house- some cleaning windows, some fixing electrical appliances and others painting the walls.

The family will be shocked because they did not instruct anyone to work in their house. What would you do if this happens to you? I assume you would immediately call the police to assist in getting these intruders out of your house.

Open Heaven 12 December 2018
The same thing needs to happen in the Church of God, as many workers there are intruders. This is the reason why the Lord said in Matthew 7:22-23:

“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

In today’s Bible reading, the Holy Spirit reveals to us the character of those who will receive divine commendation, saying:

“And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:”

To receive heaven’s commendation on the day of reckoning, you must be temperate in all things and run your course with certainty of purpose

Being temperate means being moderate and self-controlled, while to be certain is to be sure-minded and serious. In contrast to this, the attitude of “beating the air” is common place in our churches today.

We have people who teach on missions but who don’t go on missions. Some teach on evangelism but do not go out to evangelize. Others are orators who can get money from the stingiest of persons, but they themselves are not givers.

We need to be mindful of our ways so that we don’t end up being disappointed on theday of reckoning. Learn from Apostle Paul and apply the secret he reveals in 1 Corinthians 9:27 to your life:

“But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”

May you not miss your divine commendation at the end of your life in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heaven 12 December 2018 Prayer Point: Father, please open my eyes to areas of my life where I am not temperate or sure-minded in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heaven 12 December 2018 Hymn 5

I HAVE DECIDED TO FOLLOW JESUS
1. I have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
No turning back, no turning back.

2. The world behind me, the cross before me;
The world behind me, the cross before me;
The world behind me, the cross before me;
No turning back, no turning back.

3. Though none go with me, still I will follow;
Though- none go with me, still I will follow;
Though none go with me, still I will follow;
No turning back, no turning back.

4. My cross I’ll carry, till I see Jesus;
My cross I’ll carry, till I see Jesus;
My cross I’ll carry, till I see Jesus;
No turning back, no turning back.

5. Will you decide now to follow Jesus?
Will you decide now to follow Jesus?
Will you decide now to follow Jesus?
No turning back, no turning back.

DCLM Daily Manna Devotional 13 December 2018 – Shun Inordinate Ambition written by Pastor Kumuyi

TOPIC: Shun Inordinate Ambition

TEXT: MARK 9:30-37

KEY VERSE: “And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all”  – (Mark 9:35).

MESSAGE: It is truism that “pride goes before a fall”. The Christian life is filled with various paradoxes such as ‘the way up is down’, ‘the way to live is to die’, and ‘the way to receive is to give’. The uniform teaching of the word of God is against self-seeking, self-projection, self-exaltation, inordinate ambition and pride of life.

The projection of self in every endeavour describes what sin itself is: Selfishness In Nature. No doubt, God is interested in our progress, success, breakthrough and advancement. He says, “we shall be the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath”, that “whatsoever we do shall prosper”, and many more! However, our motives, modes and methods of actualising this are of great concern to God.

DCLM Daily Manna Devotional 13 December 2018 – Shun Inordinate Ambition

In the world today, people seek a place of prominence in the workplace and the neighbourhood. In several instances, they take steps that are ungodly to attain the desired position, thereby losing the presence and favour of God. This reminds us of a certain young man who coveted the position of his boss and felt that the boss had stayed too long there and must give way to him. He travelled to the village and mentioned it before his fetish father. His father promised to look into the case. Back in the place of work the following week, his boss just got to his office in the morning, slumped and died. His father called him and told him he had “finished” the work. What a world!

Bribing our way to success, cutting corners to reach the top and defying all Christian ethics including using undue influence popularly called “long leg”, run contrary to God’s word. His word, way and time are the best in achieving the desired best for our lives. DCLM Daily Manna Devotional 13 December 2018

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Making haste outside God’s plan attracts His displeasure.
