RCCG Open Heaven 20 February 2018 Daily Devotional – Pastor E.A. Adeboye

Topic: There Should Be No Complex

Memorise: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. 1st Corinthians 12:11

Read: 1st Corinthians 12:1-12 (KJV)

1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.
3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.RCCG Open Heavens 20 February 2018 Daily Devotional

Message: RCCG Open Heaven 20 February
There is one silent source of confusion in the Body of Christ which must be addressed for the sake of the advancement of God’s kingdom. It is a combination of attitudes and feelings known as the “complex”. A complex is a mental or psychological state that should be alien to the Body of Christ. It manifests itself as inferiority or superiority complex. Ironically, the Church has lived with this issue through the ages.

Apostle Paul in today’s text warns us against the manifestation of such attitudes – whether as inferiority or superiority complex. How does the issue of “complex” operate in the Body of Christ? It is through the exhibition of spiritual gifts. There was an issue with the demonstration of spiritual gifts in the Church at Corinth, whereby some offices were considered superior and some other spiritual gifts were looked down on as inferior. Against this background, Paul wrote to the Corinthian brethren to enlighten them on the distribution and operation of the different offices and spiritual gifts in the Body of Christ. The analogy of human body parts used by Paul to explain this spiritual truth is very profound. In 1st Corinthians 12:17, Paul rhetorically asks,

“If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were healing, where were the smelling?”

RCCG Open Heaven 20 February 2018: [Tuesday] daily devotional by Pastor E. A. Adeboye – There should be no complex

The truth is that the whole body cannot be the eyes; if this were the case there would be no movement, which is the prerogative of the legs. Therefore, if the eye cannot do without the legs and the ears cannot do without the nose, why should the eyes or ears think that they are superior to the legs or nose? Unfortunately, this was the situation in the Church at Corinth, as is the case in a typical church organisation today. We must recognise this reality and work towards eradicating the anomaly by continuously teaching ourselves the truth of God’s word. The most important thing about spiritual gifts is that their recipients must use them for the edification of the Body of Christ

Open Heaven 20 February 2018 (Ephesians 4:11-13, 1st Corinthians 12:22-25). For example, if we ignore the ministry of intercession because intercessors are often not known or seen like the evangelists and minstrels, the Church may become a comfortable zone for demons to operate, and then the preachers and the choir will preach and sing with no effect. The Church must begin to appreciate the gift of God in each member of the Body of Christ and celebrate them for who they are as very important and valuable. There should be no complex of any kind.

Action Point: RCCG Open Heavens 20 February
Identify the spiritual gifts God has deposited in your life and begin to use them for the advancement of God’s kingdom in your local Church assembly.

Seeds of Destiny 27th September 2018 – The Holy Spirit: The Sponsor of Righteousness

SOD THURSDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER, 2018

SCRIPTURE: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Mathew 5:14-16

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Holy Ghost is the secret of upright living.

Character is of capital value in life and destiny. One’s character determines the degree of influence one can command in one’s generation.

A Christian is meant to be a standard bearer, a road pointer, or a pace-setter for his or her generation. We were designed by God to show the rest of the world how to live. We are meant to colonize the world in excellence by our standards. The reason why our world is degenerating today is because most Christians do not operate by set Divine standards. Seeds of Destiny 27th September 2018

Now, it is very important to know that the Holy Ghost is the secret of upright living. The question is, how does the Holy Spirit help us to maintain an upright character in a degenerating world?

The Holy Ghost is the sponsor of righteousness (Romans 14:17). The Holy Ghost gives you peace, and supplies you joy and righteousness. Seeds of Destiny 27th September 2018

So, anyone who knows how to fellowship with the Holy Spirit by praying in tongues abundantly is a person whose character will be continuously moulded, enhanced and refined.
The Holy Spirit opens our eyes to insights from Scripture that can kill any unholy nature in us.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of liberty and transformation (2 Corinthians 3:17). That is, where the Spirit of the Lord is, you are not permitted to be bound by sin. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, the bondage of sin is broken.

By the power of the Holy Ghost, I decree that the siege of every negative habit over your life is broken in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: The Holy Ghost is the secret of upright living.

Seeds of Destiny 26th September 2018 – The Power that enforces change by Pastor Paul Enenche

SOD WEDNESDAY 26TH SEPTEMBER, 2018

SCRIPTURE: And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested. 1 Chronicles 4:10

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: What you do not resist will persist.

It has been established that change, like every other phenomenon, is brought about by force. There is a force behind every change; nothing changes on its own. Every change experienced in life is powered by a force. Situations change when people decide to enforce a change. Seeds of Destiny 26th September 2018 – The Power that enforces change

That is why Jabez, from our anchor Scripture, did not just sit down and wait for things to change in his life. His life and situation could not have changed if he did nothing about them.
I once heard God’s servant, Bishop David Oyedepo say, ‘What you don’t want, you don’t watch.’ I can imagine Jabez say, ‘I don’t want this miserable life and I will not continue to watch it. I want the situations of my life to change so I have to go to God and place a demand for a drastic change.’

Seeds of Destiny 26th September 2018 – The Power that enforces change

Please note this: what you do not resist will persist; whatever you do not resist will remain.

What Jabez did was what Jacob also decided to do. When Jacob saw the situation of his life, he decided to pray about it. He also determined to fight it out (Genesis 32:24). Seeds of Destiny 26th September 2018

Beloved, you need a fighter spirit to change your destiny. Destiny changes when responsibility for change is accepted. When you make up your mind for change to occur, when you make up your mind to pray about it, then the change must happen.

Remember this: What you do not resist will persist.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Accept the responsibility of effecting changes in the relevant areas of your life.
2. Take your burdens to the Lord in prayer.
3. Never quit the fight for your fulfilment in life and destiny.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: THE PRAYER OF JABEZ 1

PRAYER: Lord, I cast my cares upon You. I refuse to be established in the status quo. Cause things to turn around in my favour, Lord in Jesus’ Name.
