Topic: Blessings of the Gospel

Bible Text: Romans 15:23-30

Key Verse: “And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ” (Romans 15:29). DCLM Daily Manna 25 February 2018

Message: There was a story of a young graduate looking for a part-time employment in an office. It was on a Friday morning. “All I need right now, said the shop owner, “is a typist”. “I’ll take the job,” said the young man, “but I can’t come back until next Tuesday.” On Tuesday he reported for duty. Why couldn’t you come back before today?” The shop owner wanted to know.

“Because I had to rent a typewriter and learn to use it”, was the unexpected answer. As a Christian, learning the job of preaching the gospel is very essential lest a sinner meets you unprepared.

Apostle Paul clearly understood that his primary calling and mandate was to preach the gospel. He knew that being in the centre of God’s will bring the greatest blessing. Paul did not neglect or distract himself from what God wanted him to do with the needs of the moment. He prioritised his activities in line with God’s will, despite seemingly conflicting demands in different directions. Before Paul would be free to go to Rome, much less Spain, it was necessary for him to go about thousands of miles in the opposite direction to Jerusalem in order to minister to the saints there. He was a busy but extremely fruitful worker. He epitomised mobile blessings. Wherever he went, like his Master and Lord, he did good. DCLM Daily Manna 25 February 2018

God wants every one of His children to be useful and to be a blessing to others. Where are you going today? Who are you going to help in the household of God? What are your plans and goals and how relevant are they to the gospel? What new job or skill can you learn to make you more useful? These are the questions we must raise and answer in order to carry out God’s will. The gospel of Jesus is a blessing to the world and we who have directly benefitted from it ought to become additional source of blessing to others.

Thought for the day: Be a blessing to the Church and the world.

Billy Graham Daily Devotion 10 December 2018 – Steadfast Love

Memorize: Your steadfast love, O Lord, is as great as all the heavens . . .  —Psalm 36:5 (TLB)

Young people talk a lot about love. Most of their songs are about love. . . . “The supreme happiness of life,” Victor Hugo said long ago, “is the conviction that we are loved.” “Love is the first requirement for mental health,” declared Sigmund Freud. The Bible teaches that “God is love” and that God loves you. Billy Graham Daily Devotion 10 December 2018

To realize that is of paramount importance. Nothing else matters so much. And loving you, God has a wonderful plan for your life. Who else could plan and guide your life so well?

What is real love? Read Billy Graham’s answer.

Prayer for the day Billy Graham Daily Devotion 10 December 2018

In knowing I am loved by You, almighty God, my heart trusts You to guide me.

DCLM Daily Manna 10 December 2018 Devotional – The Kingdom In Focus

TOPIC: The Kingdom In Focus

TEXT: Romans 14:10-22

KEY VERSE: “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost” – (Romans 14:17).

MESSAGEDCLM Daily Manna 10 December 2018 Devotional:

Have you got faith? “…Have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth” (Romans 14:22).

Martin Luther King Jr. once said ‘Never, never be afraid to do what is right, especially if the wellbeing of a person or animal is at stake; society’s punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our souls when we look the other way’. The Christian church is uncompromising in its stand against all kinds of conduct opposed to scriptural standards.

Our text deals with issues that bother on the believer’s understanding of true Christlikeness, holiness, fruitfulness, doctrine and morals. This involves a sincere rebuking, correcting and evaluation of one another where necessary in love and humility and the exercise of church discipline on erring members and leaders.

DCLM Daily Manna 10 December 2018 Devotional – The Kingdom In Focus by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

Believers should refrain from judging one another. Christ our Lord is the One who has the right to judge. We must avoid anything that constitutes a stumbling block to fellow believers especially the weak ones. As believers, whether we are strong or weak, we must realise that true liberty does not lie in the exercise of that liberty if it will disrupt the peace of the body of Christ, knowing that the highest good is only attained in its use to edify the church.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Use not your liberty as a cloak of maliciousness.
