Breaking News: Saraki conspicuously absent at the APC caucus meeting
The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki is conspicuously absent at the National Caucus meeting of the All Progressives Congress, APC, currently ongoing at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Top government officials and APC chieftains at the meeting are President Muhammadu Buhari, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, Yakubu Dogara and other members of the National Assembly.

Also present at the meeting is the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom who had recently vowed not to attend any political gathering pending the resolution of the farmers/herdsmen clashes.

Ministers, Governors and APC stalwarts from the 36 States of the federation are also in the meeting, which is the first for the year and the fourth caucus meeting of the party.

Breaking News: National Assembly cancels presiding officers’ meeting

The meeting of the leadership of the National Assembly scheduled for Tuesday afternoon has been put off.

This was disclosed by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives,Yusuf Lasun, while briefing newsmen at the entrance of the National Assembly complex in Abuja.

According to him, the meeting was called off following the blockade mounted at the entrance of the complex by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).

“A meeting cannot be held under this kind of atmosphere.

“It is unfortunate that this is happening; because when the parliament is under siege, democracy is under siege,” Lasun stated.

We reported that DSS operatives on Tuesday morning blocked the entrance to the National Assembly.

Breaking News: Senator Ben Bruce confirms Melaye has been kidnapped

Following the attack on Senator Dino Melaye by unknown gunmen in the Gwagwalada area of Abuja Thursday morning, it has been confirmed that the Senator has been abducted.

Melaye’s abduction was disclosed by Senator representing Bayelsa East in the National Assembly, Ben Bruce, via his Twitter handle.

In a tweet, Bruce disclosed that Melaye’s brother, Moses informed him of the lawmaker’s abduction.

“I have just been informed by Moses Melaye, @dino_melaye’s brother, that Dino has been abducted by unknown persons in a Toyota Sienna that blocked their car and overpowered them on their way to Kogi to answer to Dino’s court case. Lets be on the watch out. Will keep you updated,” he tweeted.

Melaye was reported to have been attacked by armed men in Gwagwalada area of Abuja.
