Biafra: No politician in Buhari’s govt is more popular than Nnamdi Kanu – IPOB

Published

on

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Monday declared that its leader, Nnamdi Kanu is more “acceptable than any politician” in the All Progressives Congress, APC-led government.

IPOB made the declaration while accusing the current government of spreading false and fake news about its leadership.

A statement signed by the Head of IPOB’s Directorate of Service, Mazi Chika Edoziem, maintained that there is no faction within its ranks, stressing that Kanu remains its leader.

The statement reads, “Those people in the pay of this APC government that have taken it upon themselves to plant false and fake news in the public domain must understand they are undermining public trust in the media. It is particularly worrying that certain individuals will publish unsigned press statements from shadowy individuals working for dubious politicians with the sole intention of misleading the public.

“We urge media houses to refrain from publishing any press statement from anonymous sources. They should not allowing themselves to become unwitting agents of fake news as may appear to be the case in the ongoing effort by Okezie Ikpeazu, Nnia Nwodo and Lai Mohammed’s Ministry of Information in collaboration with DSS to mislead the masses into thinking that IPOB is factionilised when such is not the case.

“Verification of the source of every information and statement given for publication will help identify and isolate those bent on spreading falsehood. Similar exacting standards must be applied to purported statements issued by faceless persons claiming they are part of the great IPOB worldwide family?

“Reputable publications should not knowingly publish statements from person or persons they themselves know don’t exist? An unsigned press statement is confirmation that the information being peddled is false because you can’t link it to any conformable source.

“To prove that the latest ‘Okwudili’ installment is fake and going by their latest statement, nobody was identified as having signed the statement, it only said ‘news made available to’. In the interest of public confidence, we would like to ask media houses to please confirm the existence of person or persons issuing public statements regarding IPOB before publishing such.

“When the presidency admitted yesterday that they have not after all defeated Boko Haram we knew that a diversionary story will be planted in the media and surprise surprise their favorite fake news about the fake ‘IPOB leader’ surfaced again this morning.

“The only reason why this government could have coerced the media to carry this fake news about a non existent ‘new IPOB leader’ is because they know IPOB is the more popular than Nigeria, Nnamdi Kanu more acceptable than any politician in Nigeria.

“Not too long ago the masses were bombarded with the false narrative that IPOB had been defeated, weakened and crushed. Nnia Nwodo led Ohaneze Ndigbo, DSS and elements within the South East governors forum made considerable amount of financial gain and political capital out of perpetuating the myth that IPOB is no more.

“When it dawned on them that we IPOB are now even more potent than before the advent of Operation Python Dance II, given the successful boycott of Anambra governorship elections, they have re-strategised and re-engineered the narrative into a split within IPOB.

“Nnia Nwodo has been heard on many occasions recently boasting to his Northern handlers in the presidency, and in his words that “IPOB is riddled with factions and I’m in touch with leaders of these factions”. Nothing can be farther from the truth. He is peddling this myth to justify the money he collected from the presidency to sabotage the divinely ordained Biafra restoration project.

“To stop shameless corrupt politicians from further misinforming the public about the operations of IPOB, we have alerted all major governments of the world to be mindful of every information they receive from persons claiming to be part of IPOB. In this regard, we hereby inform the world that unless a correspondence emanates from IPOB world headquarters in Langenfeld Germany signed and sealed by Mazi Uche Mefor deputy leader of IPOB and Mazi Chika Edoziem head of Directorate of State, such document should be ignored. Enemies of freedom are going to extra ordinary length to subvert the will of the people but we assure them they will never succeed.

“We reiterate our call to Okezie Ikpeazu, Nnia Nwodo, DSS and Federal Ministry of Information to ask their fake ‘IPOB leader’ to tell the world who he operates from, where he comes from or which IPOB unit he belongs to. Planting written anonymous unsigned press statements in the Nigerian media with the hope that highly intelligent followership of IPOB, the largest freedom fighting movement in the world, will succumb to such nonsensical subterfuge is mere wishful thinking.”

ISIS’ child victims: Crying kids flee homes, suffer bomb injuries and sleep in smoke-filled homes in powerful images

EXCLUSIVE: In one image, released by Oxfam, a brave 14-year-old girl poses next to a water tank where her hand was blown off by a hidden ISIS bomb

Dressed in polka dot clothing, a brave young girl stands beside a water tank outside her home where her hand was blown off by an ISIS bomb.

Aged only 14, Doha, who goes by a pseudonym, was cleaning by the tank in northern Iraq when the IED suddenly exploded, causing horrific injuries.

Unbeknown to her, the deadly device had been planted at the site by Islamic State militants when they swept through her hometown, Owsijah village.

It was only two months after Doha returned home – following the recapturing of the village – when she stumbled across the hidden bomb as she cleaned.

In a terrifying blast, she lost half of her hand.

The picture of the teen, courageously standing by the tank near where the IED was buried, is among a series of powerful images taken in the war-ravaged country.

Others show families weeping and embracing as they are reunited at a camp, not too far from Mosul, after being torn apart when ISIS took control of the city.

Thin and in a state of shock, some women were seen discarding their black Niqabs, while men “wept openly”, as thousands flooded the camp’s gates.

In another striking image, a couple stand on the roof of their home with their three children, aged 11, six and five, as a fire rages behind them.

The family live next to a burning oil well in Qayyarah. And although the mum is always cleaning, their home is constantly black with smoke.

“I just keep cleaning and it comes back the same,” she says.

“If we stay like this we really will die here. We don’t have electricity and at night the smoke fills the house and we can’t breathe.”

She adds: “I try to stop the children playing outside.” More HERE

''He is human'' Edo state govt reacts to trending photos of the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, sleeping at UN general Assembly

The Special Assistant to Edo state governor on Media and Communication strategy, Crusoe Osagie, has released a statement over the trending photos of the governor, Godwin Obaseki, sleeping while President Buhari addressed the 73rd UN General Assembly yesterday September 25th.

According to Osagie, the governor was fatigued. To buttress his point, Osagie shared photos of other world leaders sleeping at world events. Read the statement below

Our attention has been drawn to a mischievous campaign designed to smear the image of the Edo State Governor, Mr. Governor Obaseki.

The disparagers have populated the internet with photographs of the governor when he momentarily succumbed to fatigue after a long flight, preceded by a chaotic itinerary in Edo State before heading to New York for the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly, in the United States of America.

The idle hands and mischievous minds behind the smear campaign against governor Obaseki are clearly not people to be taken seriously.

Despite Governor Obaseki’s rare work culture, unmatched by his peers, we have never portrayed him as a machine. He can experience fatigue and exhaustion, an indisputable fact of life, to which all humans are susceptible.

The internet is awash with photographs of outstanding world leaders who have at one time or the other yielded to fatigue at meetings.

The list includes the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel; Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe; former United States President, Barack Obama; his Economic Adviser, Larry Summers; Pope Benedict XVI; former British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown; former Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi and the former Austrian President, Heinze Fischer, amongst others.

Those who are familiar with the daily work schedule of Governor Godwin Obaseki have attested to his rare and unique work ethics, devoid of fanfare and trivialities.
A cursory look at the governor’s itinerary between September 21 – 23rd, before he entered the UN meetings in New York, shows the following: Friday September 21, 2018, 9:30am, Swearing-in of members of the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission (EDSOGPADEC) Board; 10:30am, Swearing-in of new members of the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB); 12noon, Meeting with Amaju Pinnick, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President; 12-5pm, attended to mails and correspondence; 5-7pm, on the road from Benin City to Irrua in Edo Central.

Between 7-9pm, he held a meeting with Edo Central Community and Political leaders in Irrua; from 9-10pm, he was on the road from Irrua to Fugar, headquarters of Etsako Central Local Government Area. From 10pm to 12am the next day, he held a meeting with community and political leaders in Fugar.

On that same Saturday between 12-3am, Obaseki met with overseers of the Health Improvement Programme (HIP) along with his Chief of Staff, Chief Taiwo Akerele; the Special Adviser on Media and Communication Strategy, Crusoe Osagie; Executive Assistant, Ethan Uzamere; in Fugar, Etasko Central LGA.

The team rested between 4-7am on Saturday and proceeded to Warake to inspect the Primary Healthcare Centre there, which is near completion.

Between 9-10am, the governor was on the road from Warake to Okpella where he commissioned the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN)’s Power Transformer in Okpella.

From 11am, he headed to St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Emaudo in Ekpoma, for the memorial Church Service of the late Professor Ambrose Alli, former governor of old Bendel State. He was at the late Prof. Ambrose Alli’s House for a visit from 4pm and was on the road from Ekpoma to Benin City between 4:30 and 6pm.

He left Benin City for New York around 6pm and was scheduled to arrive New York between 11-12noon, Sunday (New York time) for the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly.

He was to await President Muhammadu Buhari’s arrival between 4-6pm after which he met with the President’s aide over the next day’s proceedings at the United Nations.

The governor’s activities in the days before his trip to New York give insight into his attitude to work and governance, and followed similar crowded itinerary, in China, where he sealed final investment agreements on the development of the Benin Industrial Park, the Benin River Port and the Modular Refinery project few days before.
