THIS is dramatic moment vigilantes restrain a suspected paedophile for his own safety after he threatened to jump in front of traffic during a live Facebook sting.
The married office worker said “I’m gonna kill myself” and marched straight towards a busy main road after being confronted by the group Predator Exposure.
They accused him of sending naked selfies to one of their adult decoys on gay dating app Grindr – thinking he was 14 – and arranging to meet for sex just hours after sending his first message.
The balding suspect was filmed grappling with members of the group as he desperately tried to get back to his car during the tense stand-off in Leeds.
We have blurred the face of the accused man and distorted his voice in the footage which was uploaded to Facebook yesterday – and viewed more than 420,000 times.
It shows the vigilantes detaining the middle aged man and confiscating his smartphone.
He tries to snatch it back and blasts: “Get off me phone.”
They struggle to hold him as he makes a dash for the car, shouting: “I need to move.”
One man blocks the driver’s door and tells him: “You’re not going nowhere, sir.”
He gives up and walks off down the road, pursued by the vigilantes demanding answers.
The smartly-dressed suspect claims he did not know how old the ‘boy’ was and says: “I’m on my way to work. I’ve got a meeting at 2 o’clock.”
He asks them to stop filming and insists: “I’m not a f****** paedophile.”
As the interrogation continues, he becomes increasingly volatile and says: “It doesn’t matter because I’m gonna f****** kill myself anyway.” See photos and video
