Rio Ferdinand and Kate Wright are moving full steam ahead with their relationship since making their romance public last month.
And now it’s been reported that Rio, 38, is considering popping the question to 26-year-old Kate.
Their plans to solidify their new family with his three children Lorenz, 11, Tate, nine, and six-year-old Tia could be made official as soon as Christmas.
Rumours of engagement plans have come weeks after Rio revealed that his wife Rebecca gave her blessing for him to date Kate Wright from beyond the grave.
“Kate was over the moon when Rio told her he wanted to get married,” a source told Now magazine .
“They’ll announce it properly in December but it’s full steam ahead for them.”
Rio’s first wife of six years Rebecca died in 2015 aged 34, after her breast cancer returned.
And earlier this month, the ex-England defender revealed that while he started having feelings for Kate, his wife’s close friend Lisa encouraged the new relationship.
She told him that Rebecca did not want him to be “alone and miserable”.
Ex TOWIE star Kate has been quietly dating the former England defender since January and has grown close to his family over the last nine months.
“Rebecca told Lisa something in the final weeks of her life,” Rio told The Sun.
“Months later Lisa told me what it was… ‘It kills me to think of Rio with a new partner, Lisa, you know it does. Of course it does.
“‘But you know what kills me even more? Thinking of him alone and lonely.
“‘If I don’t make it, Lisa, I don’t want Rio to be miserable. I want him to be happy.'” [Mirror]
