Former Governor of Bayelsa state escaped death

Gunmen suspected to be assassins early hours of today around 2:00am visited the house of a ‎former Acting Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Wenipreye Seibarugu.

His home at Okaka, Yenagoa, was invaded by the gunmen who reportedly scaled the fence of his compound and tried to gain access to his building through the kitchen’s door.

They shot sporadically and created panic among occupants of the house and the politician’s neighbours, but were unsuccessful. They later fled when youths who are living in some flats and security operatives repelled them.

Seibarugu who sustained injuries is said to be receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
