Raheem Sterling is set to make a “substantial donation” to those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire, it’s been claimed tonight.
The Manchester City and England footballer has offered his condolences to the families of the tragedy, saying: “This is a deep & sad situation… close to my heart and hard to swallow.”
He was also set to make a “substantial donation”, the BBC reports.
According to journalist David Ornstein, Sterling said he wanted to help in “the best way I can”.
Ornstein tweeted this evening that Sterling said: “This is a deep & sad situation, 1 close to my heart & hard to swallow.
“But I’d like to help in the best way I can.
“Only a small step but small steps lead to big changes if we come together.
