Manchester City hosted Manchester United in a Thursday night edition of the Manchester derby.

Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho are both desperate to secure Champions League football next season, and the race for top four is intensifying as the season comes towards its conclusion.

But both sides had to be content with a point as the game ended 0-0, despite City’s dominance. Gabriel Jesus had a goal ruled out and Marouane Fellaini was sent off.

United were without the injured Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones, but Antonio Valencia was fit.

For City, David Silva and John Stones missed out, but Sergio Aguero was in the starting side and Gabriel Jesus came off the bench.

It was the third meeting between the sides this season with honours even so far – City won the league encounter at Old Trafford, before United won the League Cup tie on their way to lifting the trophy at Wembley.
