Governor Dickson of Bayelsa State today, commended the allegiance to duty of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), as they assist in stemming the rate of oil theft, pipeline vandalism, retrieval of arms, as a continuation of the State policies in the fight against crime and criminality.
Dickson who made the assertions when the NSCDC delegation led by Assistant Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps visited him on a two days working tour to the government of Bayelsa State in Yenagoa.
The Governor assured the NSCDC of his total support and collaboration of the government and good people of Bayelsa State, noting that the security outfit is as important as its sister agencies in fighting crime and criminal in the State, especially in the area of fighting oil theft and pipeline vandalism in the niger delta region .
While commending the governor for providing a befitting accommodation, office space,five hectares of land and incorporating the agency into the other sister security agencies in the fight against crime in the State, the Assistant Commandant General of the NSCDC, Mr. Bassey. O. Bassey assured the governor of the Corps commitment to the execution of its constitutional mandate of Protection of Critical Infrastructure and National Assets, monitoring and supervising of the Private Guards industry in order to overhaul ,bringing sanity to the oil business in the nation.
Bassey further reiterated the Corps commitment to Collaborate with other sister Agencies to tackle every form of insecurity arising to ensure prompt response to rescue operations of disaster affected victims.
