The two leaders gave a brief joint press conference in the East Room, after bonding in the Oval Office in front of the now infamous bust of Sir Winston Churchill.
Theresa May said the pair had already had good discussions about international issues – including the fight against ISIS and the US attitude to NATO.
The Prime Minister said the President had told her he supports Nato “100%” – which is a significant shift for him.
They also discussed Brexit , plans for a new trade deal and their respective government’s attitude to Russia.
