The Senate on Thursday extended the validity period of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to three years against the present one year.

Senate President Bukola Saraki, in appreciating his distinguished colleagues for their work towards the passage of the bill commented that the new amendments will indeed bring financial relief to students as well as parents and reduce bottlenecks and corruption in the admission process.

The extension was sequel to the amendment of the Act establishing the JAMB and it scaled through third reading today.
