Dancing with the Stars descended into chaos on Monday evening when protesters rushed onto the stage during Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte’s debut performance.

Footage shows judge Carrie Ann Inaba, who is in the process of offering her critique, looking worried as the drama unfolds in front of her.

“Excuse me! Back off,” she yells. “Excuse me!”

You can then see two security guards rush past her and out of view.

Host Tom Bergeron, who is stood in front of the swimmer and his dance partner Cheryl Burke, then nervously tells camera they are cutting to a commercial break.

According to TMZ, a group in the audience ripped open their shirts to reveal a ‘No Lochte’ symbol and were booing the swimmer before two of them stormed the stage.

“We’re back. We had to go to break because we had a little incident and I would personally like to thank our security team for staying in shape,” Bergeron says as the show returns.

“Are you OK you guys? Ryan, how are you doing?” he asks.
