The Special Adviser to Gov. Henry Seriake Dickson on Talent Development and Gender Promotion, Hon. (Mrs.) Helen Bob, has congratulated the governor for the well-deserved victory at the Election Petitions Tribunal, saying it has clearly vindicated the unflinching support women gave to the governor.
While talking to newsmen shortly after the tribunal judgment in Abuja, the Special Adviser urged all Bayelsans irrespective of political affiliations to give Gov. Dickson the needed support, as it is the only way he can fully restore the State.
Helen, who was the Deputy Director on Women Mobilization in the Restoration Campaign Team, said she has “always expected the verdict to be in our favour because the governor has the mandate of the people.”
She also said, “You can see how excited I am. I’m very excited because today’s judgment has just vindicated the decision of women to reelect Gov. Dickson in the Dec 5, 2015 gubernatorial election.”
“The governor needs the support of every Bayelsan to fully restore the State. And I think it’s time for even the opposition to join the Restoration Government in moving Bayelsa forward,” she added.
It would be recalled that the Justice Kazeem Aloba-led Election Petitions Tribunal on tuesday, 27th July, 2016, upheld Gov. Dickson’s election and dismissed the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Timipre Sylva, for not substantially proving its case.
